NaSTA 2012 was hosted by Nottingham University Television (NUTS) and took place from the 20th to the 22nd of April 2012. The conference lasted three days with the award ceremony being held in Studio 7, the ex-home of Supermarket Sweep, Blockbusters and The Mighty Boosh.

YSTV took along 17 members, including Mark Friend for the 6th time.

YSTV won Best Broadcaster for the first time since 1998, as well as Best Onscreen Female Emma Bennett and highly commended for Best Light Entertainment for Chris Wall's Pushing the Senses.

Highlights included...

  • A tree catching fire whilst filming the golden bodge. Steven Perring was visably disappointed when he was pulled away from the scene.
  • A number of YSTV members requiring alcohol related medical assistance at the end of the ceremony after a particularly testing first half. YSTV won the NaSTIE for most amount of ambulances and medical attention needed in NaSTA history.
  • Marie Mills got very friendly with a member of NUTS.
  • Steven Perring ran for the NaSTA Exec but was unsuccessful.
  • Our Golden Bodge involved singing 'I'm Sexy and I Know It' by LMFAO in the style of Come Dine With Me. Needless to say there was nudity, including Mark Friend.
