Golden Bodge

The Golden Bodge is, to many at YSTV, the best part about the NaSTA weekend. Screw the awards. Screw the networking. Keep the alcohol - you'll need your creative juices.

The Golden Bodge is simple.

  • Your bodge must be submitted by the start of the awards ceremony
  • Your bodge must only be filmed on smartphones
  • Your bodge must not have been edited - the only exception is to piece together the clips
  • Your bodge's clips must be included in order
  • Your bodge's clips must each have been produced in one take
  • Your bodge must conform to three categories
    • A style, e.g. "Porno"
    • A genre, e.g. "Comedy"
    • A line e.g. "But that's what she said!"
    • For example, "An action/adventure in the style of Cinderella with the line 'Take the second start to the left and straight on till morning!'"

2015: One Bodge More

2014: LSU

Please ensure that you fully understand the context of this bodge by first viewing The LSU Exec Song 2013 and Frozen

Brief: "A 50s Americano in the style of Football with the line 'You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!'"

Whilst slightly drunk, Lloyd Wallis noted that, putting aside all of the other flaws with LSU's exec song, that there were far better choices for a parody out there. Due to the current box office offerings, the first example was "Let It Go". Lloyd vaguely drunkenly belted out half a chorus and as far as his memory is concerned woke up the next morning with a new friend.

Overnight, Grace Winpenny and Emily Torricelli had scripted a full parody of the Frozen number, and Thomas Cheyney had started planning the choreography. Roles were assigned, consensus for ignoring all rules was found, props were located, and a set that looked oddly like Heslington East was spotted. Sadly, time ran out when shooting, so only the first part of the resulting video has content. The rest involves David Heaton turning a page forward and back on a notepad, claiming that you are listening to Loughborough's student radio station.
