Cameron joined the society in October 2021, having planned to do so ever since applying for York, and quickly became one of YSTV's most active editors, initially specialising in multicam edits such as ComedySoc and University Challenge recordings. He unsuccessfully ran against Charlotte Pye for Head of Engagement in the November 2021 by-election. At College Varsity 2022, he originated the style of pre-recorded Roaming Reports subsequently used for Roses 2022 and Freshers 2022. He also edited the Roses 2022 trailer and the 9 To 5 Doc. In the 2022 election, he and Jamie Parker-East ran for Head of Presentation unopposed.

In his second year, Cameron became one of the society's most active members. In the Autumn Term, he played significant roles in Freshers 2022, the 55th Anniversary 48 hour livestream and Hunted Live, and joined XLR as its in-house editor. In an exceptionally stressful Spring Term, he co-produced Elections 2023 with Beth Marsch, coordinated entries for NaSTA 2023 and worked alongside Max Roach to launch and run YSTV Live, particularly aspects relating to continuity and pre-recorded shows. The Summer Term began with Roses 2023, for which he was VT Lead. In the 2023 election, Cameron ran for Production Director unopposed and subsequently took on overall responsibility for YSTV Live, as well as producing coverage of the Love York Awards and Summer Ball 2023. He also received the award for Outstanding Behind-The-Scenes Contribution at the YUMAs 2023.
