With no studio in 1993 YSTV found other ways to broadcast and the big events like Children In Need, Election Night and Open Day were the few times all the equipment was dragged out of storage. Both for the fun of it and an attempt to keep members interested.
For Children in Need, Vanbrugh dining hall was taken over (at the time it was little used for dining). Two sets were built at one end with a control room desk built behind the larger set. The event was heavily sponsored by Endsleigh Insurance and Barclays.
The event was unofficially open, with some bemused people drifting in from Vanbrugh bar.
