NaSTA 2013 was held in Exeter by XTV from Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th of April. YSTV took along twenty members, of which twelve were attending for the first time.

YSTV won best Technical Achievement again, this time with Sam Nicholson and John Caine's Tarantula scheduling system. Although not winning as many awards outright as last year, the scores given were on average higher across the board. Also at the awards ceremony, Emma Bew was elected as Chair of NaSTA. She became the first female to hold the the position.

Other highlights included:

  • Josh Hunter starting drinking at 4am on the Friday. By the afternoon, an 'If found please return to...' notice had been added to his lanyard.
  • Great selection of industry talks.
  • Chris Wall's room. Toothpaste was involved. Ask him.
  • The unfortunate loss of Liz Pascoe's techie bra. This was brought to the attention of the University.
  • Imaginative graffiti created by green LX tape left on the doors in the accommodation.
  • Two wonderful golden bodges. One alongside Warwick's WTV, and one by ourselves. Unfortunately, the one by ourselves was lost in the sands of time.
