This was acquired by YSTV in the massive donation of equipment and funiture by Accenture in March 2003.

This is supposed to be a security camera, but is so useful and of good enough quality that it gets regularly used on air. The main feature is that is can be panned through 360 degrees and tilted through 270 degrees remotely via a touch controller, which can be up to 100m or more away from the camera. Thus Death Star can be attached to Ents lighting rig at major events, or our own in the studio and driven from the comfort of the control room. It has also been set up at a normal camera height in the YSTV studio when a shortage of camera operators made it necessary for the Director to also operate the camera remotely from the control room.

It was first used by YSTV at Roses Ball in May 2003, and on air for the first time in the first edition of YSTV Week.

DeathStar was eventually replaced with a Sony PTZ camera, known as Howard.
