Rob joined YSTV after startinig at York in 1996.  After proving that he knew more about BBC B's than is healthy, he became Technical Director in 1997 following a rousing election speech involving promises to "get the Tin Bin though the light barrier".  He then went on to rewire much of campus, build the Video Mux, rebuild Schedula and build the colour monitor stack amongst other things.
