Took over as News Director from Andrew Hawkins in 1996 and after toying with the liable laws handed over to Julie Knox. Organised the 1997 NaSTA conference before barely graduating in 1997.

After various jobs in television John now finds himself in Clitheroe as a Project Manager working on software solutions for a digital publishing company called Digital Alternatives
