Jo was at York for the first time between 1989 and 1992. She appeared in various YSTV productions including Breakfast in Edinburgh, and once presented a programme from an unsafe-looking craft in the middle of the campus lake.
After graduation she returned to direct Children In Need 1992 and Election 93. She then came back to the university as a postgrad in 1994-5 and rejoined YSTV, making a guest appearance as Mystic Smeg during Election 95 and finishing on a high note with the creation and production of Good Morning Campus.
