2001 Constitution

In the summer of 2000 a number of old YSTV hands graduated/left, including Chris Ward, Chris Parker, Alex Hudson and Rob SprowsonUnverified or incomplete information. A mostly new team of officers (the exception was the Director, Peter Bowles) took over and looked at the society with fairly fresh eyes. The Constitution and Policy documents were quite badly hacked around, weren't easy to understand and had various other shortcomings. In particular, there were some "Officer" posts which were created in the Constitution and formed a "committee" and other "non-officer posts" which were created in the Policy and had fewer rights and responsibilities. It was felt that this had potential to produce a split in the society and so it was decided to create a new structure in which all the posts became "officers", defined in the Constitution, and which formed into four teams:

• Administration team, headed by the Studio Manager
• Commercial team, headed by the Commercial Director
• Technical team, headed by the Technical Director
• Production team, headed by the Production Director

Within each team were a number of more junior positions - the idea being that in the event of a position being vacant the relevant team leader would carry out their duties.

The Constitution was drafted by a small committee (Cally Nixon and Thea Darricotte were both on it) but most of the text was actually written by Michael Prior-Jones.
