17 Carlton Avenue

Between 2002 and 2005, 17 Carlton Avenue had a number of YSTV connections:

Between 2002 and 2003 it was home to Jessica Shiddell, who was producing Bulletin during this period. By an amazing coincidence in January 2003 Jonathan Bufton and friends decided to live there from the start of the following academic year, and only later was it discovered that it was already home to an active YSTV member.

Between 2003 and 2005 Jonathan lived there, as did Small Screen partner in crime Tom Hughes. Michael Brothwell, Simon Drage and Adam Bell lived there too and were all involved in YSTV in one form or another in those two years. Kate Rushworth also spent a lot of time there from 2004 onwards and was often referred to as the 8th housemate. The house was at one point (rather innocently) referred to as the "power house" as it contained the Production Director of YSTV, two different Programme Controllers of URY, a BBC Radio York presenter and leaders of both the campus Lib Dems and Conservatives! The abandoned fifth attempt at WoodenSpoon was also filmed in the kitchen, and Rowan's spoof Parkinson-style chat show for 2005's Summer Expedition in the living room.

Frank lived there too. His socks can be seen being barbequeued on Summer Expedition 2005.
