1987's elections programme was the first in colour.


It featured a number of elements.  The main links presenter appeared to be based in the Physics studio and presented for the entire evening.  There was a panel of hacks and candidates, an interview set, a graphics presenter, live cameras in the dining hall, an "outspoken" commentator in the Physics concourse and a segment called "Let's Go To Bed".  This was a set which consisted of a bed with condoms pinned to the wall where over-the-top interviews would be conducted, some years away of a similar concept being used on The Big Breakfast.

For some reason the sizeable portion of Election Night Live 1987 YSTV holds is located on the end of one of the tapes the 1994 programme is on!
