In the summer of 2000 a number of old YSTV hands graduated/left, including [[Chris Ward]], [[Chris Parker]], [[Alex Hudson]] and {{unsure|[[Rob Sprowson]]}}. A mostly new team of officers (the exception was the Director, [[Peter Bowles]]) took over and looked at the society with fairly fresh eyes. The Constitution and Policy documents were quite badly hacked around, weren't easy to understand and had various other shortcomings. In particular, there were some "Officer" posts which were created in the Constitution and formed a "committee" and other "non-officer posts" which were created in the Policy and had fewer rights and responsibilities. It was felt that this had potential to produce a split in the society and so it was decided to create a new structure in which all the posts became "officers", defined in the Constitution, and which formed into four teams:
