Marmite is an on campus club night hosted by YUSU in Glasshouse. It features cheesy pop music that you will either love or hate (much like marmite).
Traditionally Marmite featured cheap drinks (often £1 shots), free prawn crackers upon entry and old episodes of Pokemon would be played on all the screens in the venue.
The popularity of Marmite eventually led to the creation of a sister event, Timewarp.
History
Marmite was conceived as the answer to Willow closing. Willow had been a popular club in York (and also primarily a Chinese restaurant). The logo for Willow was a marmite jar and hence when it closed its doors, Marmite was born.
