This is often referred to as VT 'P169' since in September 2009 it replaced the old VT P169 which was an actual P169. This is actually a slightly lower-quality matrix switcher.
Connections:
Inputs:
- 8x composite
- 1x Ref must be present
Outputs:
- 4x composite
Reference signal
Michael Cullen did an experiment in 2009, where a DA'ed 'YSTV Clock' video signal was put into the reference input: This allowed VT 8x4 to switch inputs. As clock is always on, and in some cases we need to use the unit outside of a show, the matrix is now fed as above, permanently. Magic DaVE B&B would also work, but this way, it doesn't need to be turned on.
