	It began as a joke, when YSTV members visited Toffs nightclub's Sunday gay night in November 2004. Despite the name it was perhaps the least gay "gay night" in the world due to York's not exactly cosmopolitan make-up. Although not a student night, it was quite cheap in order to get the punters in on a Sunday night.		It began as a joke, when after sampling all the other club nights in York over the Autumn term YSTV members visited Toffs nightclub's Sunday gay night in November 2004, as it was about the only one left to go to. Despite the name it was perhaps the least gay "gay night" in the world due to York's not exactly cosmopolitan make-up. Although not a student night, it was quite cheap in order to get the punters in on a Sunday night.

	A good time was had by all - especially YSTV's token gay [[Rowan de Pomerai]] who came up with the name for the social. As a result the social started to happen regularly (the second and third visits were subtitled "The Re-Entry" and "The Threesome"). There were also spin-offs in the form of Little Gay Sunday and Big Gay Birthday. Most socials would begin in the Nag's Head next door, taking advantage of their triples-for-singles offer. The social was referenced in [[Good Morning Campus]] as an example of what YSTV had got up to in the previous year. After this point the social happened rarely - mainly because Toffs decided they didn't want to be associated with something like a gay night. There were occasional revivals though, the most recent in early 2007, partly down to Toffs realising that if they didn't market Sunday as a gay night, no-one would go, so it re-became a gay night after all.
