Shortly after the HD Upgrade, a series of idents were created in a 'test' of the new vision path. They were created by Robert Walker, David Heaton and Sam Nicholson, when they tied up Lloyd Wallis in a darkened studio. The next half an hour was spent with Lloyd reeling off different lines, including a rendition of 'The fox'. This was then edited down to a number of idents, each ending with the YSTV logo.

These idents later inspired the hostage VT in Children in Need 2013. A similar style ident made from the footage of the pre-fire warning scene of TUC was also made at this time.
