YSTV has had many of these over the years, offering members the opportunity to go out and have a good time together when not making fantastic student television.

In recent years there has even been a Social Secretary to help plan members' hectic social calendars. The holders of this post have varied in the seriousness with which they took their role but special mention must go to Tom Hughes, who in the seven weeks at the end of his degree in which he held the post planned a social a week, including campus bar crawls, bowling nights, house parties and the obligatory Big Gay Sundays.
