Liam is an active [https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Absolute%20Unit member] of YSTV, primarily the YSTV computing team, since 2021 (Two-thousand and twenty-one). In the first (1st) few days of joining, he fixed the transmission light (broken), a curious machine out of service since when [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG4P1PSAu-s who knows when]. [[Will Stirk]] then referenced toward him (Liam) as the "Arduino™ guy" for his use of an Arduino™ in the transmission light. In fact he loved the transmission light so much he made a habit of turning it on and off in rapid succession, just to show the raw power of Arduino™ technology.

Liam (in November 2021 (only a month after joining (18 years after the founding of Tesla Motors (Elon (Musk))))) was elected as the [[Deputy Computing Director]] after only joining the month before.

Not long after getting [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVMoBA-DjtI godmode] on the YSTV servers, Liam started [https://youtu.be/ut5DXxK1dvk?t=302 breaking anything] that wasn't bullet proof: web servers (deleting Nginx doesn't appear to fix the problem), moss servers (docker?) and [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC0UWIYswKI power supply servers], to name a few servers.

| The amount of problems we had with getting everything set up was immense, the stream server didn't want to work and audio and patches were a joke, in the end we started roughly 45 minutes later and we all had a good evening except for [[Ben Allen]] who was stressed to no end and worrying about everything. All in all, it was a good stream and we had fun. I unfortunately didn't get to test out my streaming software as we bypassed the server in the end.

Liam is an active [https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Absolute%20Unit member] of YSTV, primarily the YSTV computing team, since 2021 (Two-thousand and twenty-one). In the first (1st) few days of joining, he fixed the transmission light (broken), a curious machine out of service since when [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG4P1PSAu-s who knows when]. [[Will Stirk]] then referenced toward him (Liam) as the "Arduino™ guy" for his use of an Arduino™ in the transmission light. In fact he loved the transmission light so much he made a habit of turning it on and off in rapid succession, just to show the raw power of Arduino™ technology.

Liam (in November 2021 (only a month after joining (18 years after the founding of Tesla Motors (Elon (Musk))))) was elected as the [[Deputy Computing Director]] after only joining the month before.

'6 Crossways' is a student house in York filled with YSTV committee members, past and present. Their members consist of [[Mia Scudds]], [[Beth Marsch]], [[Erin McLeod]], [[Ava Ubertowski]], [[Sarah Maguire]] and [[Charlotte Pye]], 2021 freshers.

The house is known for holding socials during Scudds' time as social sec.

Legend has it that a so-called 'slippy cocktail' made for an interesting halloween social.

Liam is an active [https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Absolute%20Unit member] of YSTV, primarily the YSTV computing team, since 2021 (Two-thousand and twenty-one). In the first (1st) few days of joining, he fixed the transmission light (broken), a curious machine out of service since when [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG4P1PSAu-s who knows when]. [[Will Stirk]] then referenced toward him (Liam) as the "Arduino™ guy" for his use of an Arduino™ in the transmission light. In fact he loved the transmission light so much he made a habit of turning it on and off in rapid succession, just to show the raw power of Arduino™ technology.

Liam (in November 2021 (only a month after joining (18 years after the founding of Tesla Motors (Elon (Musk))))) was elected as the [[Deputy Computing Director]] after only joining the month before.

Liam (in November 2021 (only a month after joining (18 years after the founding of Tesla Motors (Elon (Musk))))) was elected as the [[Deputy Computing Director]] after only joining the month before.

| The stream was a complete failure, the linking of the ATEM Mini's caused there to be a delay with the camera feeds, the transcoders kept crashing and strm7 was a big problem because it's so underpowered.

| The amount of problems we had with getting everything set up was immense, the stream server didn't want to work and audio and patches were a joke, in the end we started roughly 45 minutes later and we all had a good evening except for [[Ben Allen]] who was stressed to no end and worrying about everything. All in all, it was a good stream and we had fun. I unfortunately didn't get to test out my streaming software as we bypassed the server in the end.

The return of the rattly atem, except not rattling and probably fixed

This is a continuation from [[The night of the rattly atem]].

The (hopefully) final instalment in this saga of 1 from the ATEM 4K 1/ME.

After the ATEM was broken for whatever reason, probably vibrations, it has now been fixed by our wonderful [[Liam Burnand]]... Liam definitely didn't write this...

Liam was board on 2/2/22 so decided to take a crack at the ATEM, the process was just simply to see if there was something obviously wrong with the ethernet port, controller or board.

Once inside, the ethernet port was on a daughter board so Liam took the logical step of taking out the taking the daughter board because sometimes board-to-board connectors can sometimes be flaky. Liam inspected the board fully and couldn't see anything obviously wrong with the daughter board and proceeded to blow out the connector as dust can accumulate in the connector causing a short of just simply a broken circuit.

After reinstalling the daughter board Liam went to test the ethernet as a last ditch effort and to both Liam and Max's surprise, the ATEM showed up in the control software and I did some more testing to verify it by rebooting and disconnecting everything and reconnecting everything.

It worked!

Liam put it all back to gather, screwing the screws and bolting the bolts. Then testing the ATEM just like he did before and it still worked. It has probably been unfucked.

*1970 - Still only in B&W with five monitors - Alcuin, Derwent, Langwith, Goodricke and Vanbrugh, transmitted from studios in [[P/S/016|Physics labs]].

==1980s==

* 20th October 1986 - inaugural [[Primary Colour|YSTV colour]] broadcast. At this time YSTV could only be watched on seven screens - one in each of Alcuin, Derwent, Langwith, Goodricke, Physics, Vanbrugh, Wentworth. The University's CCTV network was a video and audio over twisted pair which required special monitors.

* January 1988 - YSTV Breaks the World Record for the longest continuous broadcast by 1 director ([[Keith Hide-Smith]]) and earns a place in the Guinness Book of Records with [[Breaker 88]].

==1990s==
* June 1993 - YSTV [[Closure|loses]] its studio in [[P/X/002|Physics]] and is left homeless - start of the [[Interregnum]].
* 29th October 1994 - YSTV's [[G/046|Goodricke Studio]] opened by [[Greg Dyke]].
* April 1996 - contingent from YSTV attend [[NaSTA 1996]] at UEA
* 5th April 1996 - YSTV featured on Planet 24's Hotel Babylon programme.
* April 1997 - YSTV hosts the National Student Television Association ([[NaSTA]]) Conference.
* 21st November 1997 - [[YSTV 30]] - featured on Tyne Tees News.
* 10th July 1998 - YSTV goes digital with the purchase of the [[The Mac|Media100qx Editing System]].
* September 1998 - YSTV begins a network improvement program.

* January 2000 - YSTV produces a programme for BBC Choice titled The [[Making of Bulletin]].
* June 2000 - YSTV appeared on Channel 4's Big Breakfast, competing for a chance to make a 90 second programme live on air.
* January 2001 - YSTV received new camera and editing equipment as part of a deal with [[Einstein TV]]
* May 2001 - the constitution was reorganised, creating the present team-based structure.
* January 2002 - the [[Einstein TV]] deal fell apart and the new gear was taken back by the company.
* April 2002 - YSTV hosts the [[NaSTA]] conference.
* May 2002 - YSTV buys a 3CCD miniDV camera (a Panasonic NVGS300) to replace the Einstein equipment.
* 21st November 2002 - [[YSTV 35]] - low-key celebrations of another anniversary.
* 6th October 2003 - YSTV commences broadcasting programmes from a video server.
* 10th October 2004 - YSTV's live stream is viewable from student bedrooms, and programmes on demand world wide.
* 26th May 2005 - [[Greg Dyke]] returns to the studio he opened a decade previously for an in-depth interview.
* 13th January 2006 - YSTV [[Webstream Launch]] show. The web stream now goes out to the whole world!
* 31st March - 2nd April 2006 - YSTV jointly hosts the [[NaSTA]] conference with ls:tv in Leeds.
* 19th February - The {{H:title|you're looking at it right now|YSTV history wiki}} is founded, to keep track of YSTV's past for future members.
* 30th June 2007 - YSTV celebrated 40 years with a special birthday dinner and event for members past and present.
* 17th November 2007 - YSTV celebrated 40 years on air with a live four-hour programme.
* December 2008 - YSTV is awarded a grant from the Alumni Fund to purchase 3 new studio cameras, Sony HVR-HD1000Es.
* October 2009 - Goodricke College is officially relocated to the new Heslington East campus. Although still in the same location as before, YSTV is now part of James College.
* 9th April 2011 - YSTV named second Best Broadcaster and awarded the technical achievement award at the [[NaSTA]] Awards 2011 in Loughborough.

==2010s==
* 2011 - YSTV becomes the first student television station to [[YSTV 3D|broadcast in 3D]].
* 21st April 2012 - YSTV win [[Best Broadcaster]], [[Best Female]] ([[Emma Bennett]]) and Highly Commended Light Entertainment ([[Pushing The Senses]]) at [[NaSTA 2012]] in Nottingham.
* 24th October 2012 - YSTV host [[FreshersTV]], from the department of Theatre, Film and Television on Heslington East.
* 11th November 2013 - G/046 Roadmap is completed, and regular YSTV Live HD programming begins. First broadcast is [[Monday Evening Live]]
* 5th April 2014 - YSTV win [[Best Broadcaster]], [[docs:Kenobi|Best Technical]] and Highly Commended Factual ([[Lights on Literature]]) at [[NaSTA 2014]] in Loughborough.
